Julia has worked in education since 2014. Originally from Colorado, she did her undergraduate degree in Anthropology at DePaul University in Chicago, IL. Following graduation she moved to Jeju Island, South Korea to teach in local schools before transitioning to international schools. She returned to Colorado in 2019 to complete her masters in Curriculum and Instruction for Culturally and Linguistically Diverse Learners before working as a Multilingual Education Administrator and Instructional Coach at an Indigenous startup school in Denver. Her work at this school also included recruitment and enrollment as well as community partnership outreach. During this time she participated in a fellowship with the Native American Community Academy Inspired Schools Network that focused on leadership, mission-driven learning, and school sustainability. After getting married in 2019 Julia moved to Bellingham with her partner and their dog. In her free time she loves to read, hike, cook, and fill her home with friends and loved ones.
